Kwatrokantos

6:19 PM
Wanderlust was never part of Kwatrokantos' vocabulary. Well, maybe not in the same context as one word, the fact is, if comfort and a sedentary life was to be their battlecry, they would never have left Iloilo.

For seven weeks, the band's single "Waiting List" made it to the top spot on local Iloilo radio. Everywhere they went, they had a horde of screaming acolytes and sycophants; believers in their type of music and staunch defenders of their credibility as musicians.

Their sound is uniquely Pinoy with a hint of Western charm, just enough to keep their songs teetering at the edge of your consciousness. Gwapo ako sa personal is one song that is proof of the band's easy to digest, easy to follow, easy to understand and easy to rock to - type of music. Eman Abatayo's (Pinoy Dream Academy finalist) gripping and commanding voice makes you want to really listen, be it from your iPod or your CD player.

So from Iloilo, off to Manila they go - following the supposed wanderlust in their veins.

AGEM 2009

5:54 PM
Asia's Gem 2009 is an annual gaming expo, catering to an international clientele focusing on gaming, entertainment and leisure. This year's AGEM Expo proper was held at the SMX over at the Mall of Asia.

This three day event was well attended by the international gaming, entertainment and leisure delegates. Officially, there were 14 participating countries (Australia, Austria, Korea, Spain, Slovenia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia, to name a few) with the Philippines still playing host.

The expo proper was set on the ground floor of the SMX, spanning all four halls. It was a maelstrom of pulsing lights, sounds and thrills as visitors, delegates and guests tried new gaming machines.

The PAGCOR booth boasted of a light show that showcased the proposed entertainment city. A modern, savvy and highly sophisticated entertainment location, clearly rivaling similar locations in the US, Europe and Asia.

A welcome dinner for the delegates, VIPs and guests was held at the Hyatt ballroom in Manila City. Entertainment was provided by the country's crooner, Richard Poon and the drop dead gorgeous and breath-takingly talented Ms. Rachel Alejandro.

That night also heralded the official launch of High Profile Magazine; a magazine dedicated to gaming, entertainment and leisure while creating a profile on PAGCOR.

The official opeing of the expo was highlighted by a production number that would put New Orleans' MArdi Gras to shame. This year's production number showcased the musical prowess and dancing magnanimity of PAGCOR's resident artists for their shows: Wanders and Flow.

See you next year for Asia's Gem 2010!

Erika Padilla

6:24 PM
The dictionary defines the word Ingenue as "a naive girl or woman" Naivety may be a good oxymoron or an adjective to define Erika Padilla, but she does come close.

She does break norms and changes age old beliefs and perspectives positively, especially in a worls such as that of showbusiness. In an industry where fair skinned mestizas get plum roles, Erika has proven that dark and dusky is the better choice.

Proof of that would be her winning a prestigious bikini competition, being a finalist in the Metro Magazine Model search and now, is part of an upcoming primetime TV soap.

Exotic, perky, quirky, smart and sexy. Erika Padilla is a woman ready to make history.

Mother's Day Event for Robinson's Malls.

Father's Day event at Robinson's Malls

Apologies for not being able to update the site as frequently as possible. The 2nd quarter storm went by, busier. Chainwide events for all Luzonwide Robinsons Malls were mounted almost every month, parties and other corporate events. Good thing only a few were cancelled or rescheduled due to the recent typhoons and calamities.
